Robert “Bruce” Campbell passed away peacefully at his home in Ball Ground, Georgia on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the age of 79 with his beloved wife Jeanne at his side.
Born June 16, 1945, at Christian Brothers Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, Robert Bruce Campbell received this namesake as his father Clell Campbell was fond of the legacy of “Robert the Bruce” of Scotland.
Bruce and wife Jeanne (Gaudette) Campbell were married on May 9, 1997, and resided for 23 years in Alpharetta, Georgia where they also enjoyed a second home at their houseboat on Lake Allatoona. In 2020 they moved to Ball Ground, Georgia where they enjoyed countless memories and beautiful sunsets together on their back porch.
Bruce unabashedly loved the Lord and loved helping others in their faith journey. He adored music, particularly traditional gospel and of course, Elvis Presley. Those fortunate enough to hear him sing “An American Trilogy” on karaoke night can attest. He had a passion for Allis Chalmers tractors, GE Capital finance and all things automobiles and made his career working within each of these at different points.
He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. He loved his family and would make a point to tell them that as often as possible, usually accompanied by a tremendous bear hug. He was so kind and compassionate, and made an unforgettable impact on so many lives. Bruce will be forever missed.
Bruce is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Greg & SueCampbell, his wife Jeanne (Gaudette) Campbell, his children Craig & Teraza Campbell, Rosario & Melissa Rosone, Scott & Kim Russo, Billy & Kim Warren, Matt & Angie Russo, Michelle Russo and grandchildren: Jack Warren, Avery Warren, Chandler & Raegan Warren, Samantha Russo, Bella Russo, Kendall Russo, Rylee Campbell, Skylar Russo, Alexandra Russo, Amelia Campbell, Giuseppe “Joseph” Rosone, Adam Campbell, Matthew Russo and Adrianna Russo.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Clell & Ruth Campbell and sons Scott Campbell and Bryan Russo.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 14 at 3PM at Alpharetta Methodist Church (69 North Main Street, Alpharetta, GA 30009) and the family will receive guests in the Connection Café in the church immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Dominic’s Mission (www.dominicsmission.com ).
